Posts with videos, videos, and more videos
While much of my content about the Nakivale Artists will remain free, paid subscribers will two additional posts per month written by me with content - video and photo - created by the artists documenting their art journeys. These Nakivale Artists are growing up in the age of TikTok; so, photos and videos (and more videos!) are how they like to communicate their work.
Process Video Sample: Here’s one video created by Founder Akon Deograce highlighting the work of young Moisse.
Video Journal Reports from Artists: Krehim Sharon, one of the artist teacher/mentors, shares the first page of his sketchbook that he received as part of the June 1st Art Expo. This was part of a Zoom meeting I had with them while they were in Kampala purchasing paints in June 2024.
Photo-documenting their escapades: In June 2024, the artists needed to source materials to build their own canvasses. They also worked day and night for three days straight to prepare 30 art pieces to show at the UNHCR World Refugee Day outside of the Settlement in Uganda.
Exclusive E-Card Art
Paid subscribers will receive monthly digital happy mail! The E-Card Art will include the art as well as the artists’s handwritten story plus additional content about the artist and their inspiration for the work.
The first installment of E-Card Art will be launched September 2024 featuring artwork by 19-year old Congolese Refugee Benjamin Daviruka.
