This is a short post! I miss writing, but am called to be out in the world creating in different ways. I look forward to returning here after my adventures to share some pretty incredible Creative Convergence moments.
It’s countdown to my second online young artist expo, the upcoming Young Artist Expo called “The World Through My Eyes.” Sixteen artists from three different countries will come together on Saturday, September 28th at noon (NYC) [or 7 pm Nairobi] to share their art.
They will delight you, inspire you, and move you to action… even if it’s just to pick up a pencil or a brush.
I would absolutely love to see a Substack contingent in the Zoom room. This is no longer a ticketed event. It’s free and we are opening up the Zoom room!
It’s free to join! Come pack the Zoom room to show your support!

For more details, including artist profiles, check out the original post promoting the event.
We also have an Original Art Auction!
Starting September 16th and ending September 30th, you can bid on original Nakivale Young Talent Community art. (See the Support Refugee Artist circle to learn more about them).
Incredibly, we have figured out how to ship original art through our partner Faces Up Uganda. I wrote about my amazing art date with Ssekitto Emmanuel, founder and director of Faces Up here…
So, now we can confidently hold an Art Auction! Check out all of the Nakivale Refugee art here… Place a bid! All bid prices include shipping. Net proceeds go directly to the Nakivale refugee arts group to purchase new paints and supplies. They are out of paint and it’s very sad.
Here is the Auction overview: https://givebutter.com/c/nakivalearts
And, the actual Auction is here (just an adjacent tab): https://givebutter.com/c/nakivalearts/auction
Over 24 art pieces are up and minimum bids are set at $75 and $100 (some at $50!).
Here are some art pieces that I purchased prior to the Auction on my own (the small one called “The Beauty of Africa” was purchased by Antoinette
of International’s). They are gorgeous, vibrant and incredibly light weight. I can’t wait to stretch my two pieces on frames and hang them.My post is literally this short!
That’s right. No extra fluff. This is a time is of the essence sort of post.
